At the Faustino Pérez Clinical Surgical Provincial Hospital, in Matanzas, a shipment of donations with expendable material for medical use arrived, which guarantees the coverage of implements of this type in the center for eight months.

The National Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba in Panama, and the associations of Cubans residing in the Central American country and of Isthmian businessmen, made the donation through the management of the Quisicuaba sociocultural project.

According to the director of the medical institution, Taymí Martínez Naranjo, the resources will be distributed among hospital centers in the province of Matanzas, such as the Eliseo Noel Caamaño Pediatric Hospital and the provincial gynecologic-obstetric institution.

The donation of expendable materials includes gauze sponges, intravenous tubes and tracheal tubes, among other resources for medical care. «The donated supplies are of a higher quality than we currently have,» said the head of Urgencies and Emergencies, Laudelino Luis Fernández.

The representative of the main assistance center in the province of Matanzas thanked Panama for the gesture of humanism with Cuba and the West Indians living in that country, and pointed out that it is not the first time that the Quisicuaba religious institution has supported the provincial hospital.
