Under the slogan Cuban women, victors of the impossible, the federated women of the municipality of Jovellanos held their Eleventh Congress Assembly of the Federation of Cuban Women. Incorporating young women into the work of the FMC and perfecting the leadership structures were the proposals made by the first Secretary of the Party in the province, Susely Morfa González, in her exchange with the delegates.
Community work and the fight against gender and domestic violence were topics of debate, as well as the role of women in rural areas, as the driving force behind food production. The concerns and experiences of working in the grassroots blocks and delegations were presented by the women, who represent the legacy of the organization founded by Vilma Espín.
With the validity of one hundred percent of the votes, the Municipal Committee of the Federation was elected, which elected Yoani Hernández Orihuela as secretary of the municipality. At the same time, the delegates to the Provincial Assembly and the FMC Congress, which will take place next year, were appointed. (ALH)
