Knowing and assessing the current state of the base units of the Matanzas Genetic Livestock Company was the fundamental objective of the tour of the San Francisco and Supervacas farms.
Directors of the entity exchanged with technicians, farmers, veterinarians and other workers from both farms about the behavior of the different productive indicators, as well as the main problems that threaten their correct functioning.
“This idea arises as part of a plan of measures resulting from the exchanges that we had with the president of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and with the President of the National Assembly of People’s Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández, and has the objective of solving a series of issues that threaten the operation of the company,” declared Yumurí Nivaldo Molina Tápanes, technical director, exclusively for TV.
“We have to find a way to solve the complex productive indicators that we have had this year, and that is the reason for holding this consultation where we can listen to the opinion of the workers, who at the end of the day are the driving force of the institution” added Molina Tápanes.
New face for 2024
Stopping the decline in livestock, raising reproductive levels, improving efficiency rates in terms of milk and meat production, and enhancing the training of workers and labor groups represent the company’s greatest projections for the coming year.
The considerable increase in recent months in cases of theft and slaughter of livestock stands out as one of the main problems that threaten the efficiency of work on the territory’s farms.
Created in 1970 under the guidance of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the Genetic Livestock Company has the task of contributing to the country’s livestock development. (ALH)
