The employees of the Credit and Commerce Bank (BANDEC) in Matanzas promote the sale of prepaid cards.
The card is an easy, safe, useful and versatile tool according to the clients who use the card.
Ailín Lozano Lozano, Institutional Communicator of BANDEC, highlighted that they not only facilitate the purchase of fuel in service centers authorized in USD, but can also be purchased in various branches and offices of CADECA in the province. With a minimum amount of five USD, the card is available for natural persons, foreign residents, nationals, as well as for MSMEs, non-agricultural cooperatives and self-employed workers. One of the benefits is that it is not associated with a name or identity number, which facilitates its acquisition and use.
In addition, it allows cash recharges through the ten authorized currencies and through transfers from abroad without limit. Platforms such as Tocopay and VidaiPay allow these operations to be carried out.
On the other hand, Lozano Lozano explained that clients can link the card to the Transfermóvil application to check their balance and make transfers.
Since January of this year to date, more than two thousand BANDEC prepaid cards have been sold. Among their benefits, it stands out that no commissions are charged for their use. “Prepaid cards are safer than traditional credit cards, since they are not associated with bank accounts. This means that, even if another person uses the card, they will need to know the PIN to make transactions,” Lozano Lozano explained.
The card can be used by family members or friends, but the owner is responsible for its use. In case of loss or damage, they can request a replacement at any BANDEC or CADECA branch, with a commission of three USD. Finally, the communicator highlighted that the MLC (freely convertible currency) cards will continue to be valid for purchases in authorized stores, where the person can choose one or both cards according to their needs.
