Varadero conditions are ideal, people come for the experience of swimming in a paradisiacal tourist destination, highlighted Luis Mario Villarreal, general director of Gran Retto, the first Mexican brand to export an open water event to this spa city.

Varadero is excellent, I have visited many beaches in the world and this is my favorite, it is a fairly calm sea, very calm compared to what we have in Mexico, with very little waves compared to the Pacific beaches, he stressed.

Gran Retto constitutes a brand that organizes sporting events at a national level within Mexico, and Aguas Abiertas Varadero is the first that we carry out outside the country, we have the ideal conditions to carry out a program in the best way and we appreciate the support received, he declared.

He commented that this first edition in the Hicacos Peninsula has about 150 participants from Mexico, Cuba, Colombia and the United States, and he assured that Gran Retto events are characterized by quality and safety.

We always have safety as a priority, we never skimp on the number of boats, on personnel, the implemented visualization mechanism allows to observe the swimmers on the course, who personally carry a floating buoy, accurate.

In the 1,500 meters, Yennifer Ariadna Carrillo del Real, a 13-year-old Mexican teenager, and Ghaffar Yazid García, a 17-year-old Mexican boy, came out this Saturday as winners.

Ivis Fernández Peña, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in the province of Matanzas, said that enjoying activities such as Aguas Abiertas is more than a necessity, it is a mark that is left in a destination of peace such as Varadero.

He stressed that the tourist pole has a social prestige marked above all by a magical, wonderful, perfect beach, with blue, crystalline waters, white sand that is liked, but also because of the charisma of the people, with that love that Cuba has to give to the whole world. (YENLI LEMUS DOMINGUEZ)
