The Juan Gualberto Gómez Ferrer International Airport in Varadero welcomed the Spanish airline IBEROJET this Sunday, which arrived with 382 passengers on board on its second flight from Portugal.
This event marked the beginning of the summer season of Portuguese tourism in Cuba.
The plane was received with the traditional “baptism” of water, a ceremony in which an arch of water, generated by fire trucks, greeted the arrival of the aircraft.
The crew and passengers were warmly welcomed by the authorities and workers of the airport, who welcomed them to this important Caribbean tourist destination, recognized as the main tourist center of Sun and beach in Cuba.
The airline Iberojet has announced that it will maintain a weekly frequency of flights from Portugal starting this June and until next October. This new connection strengthens the ties between both countries and promises to boost the flow of tourists to Cuba, to the benefit of both visitors and the local economy.
The arrival of IBEROJET is a testament to the attractiveness of Cuba as a tourist destination and to the commitment of the airport authorities and the Cuban tourism industry to offer quality service and an unforgettable experience to travelers.
