In Perico, the functioning of social care is being reviewed

The work delegation of the Local Organs of People’s Power reviewed the functioning of the Prevention Commission and social care during a tour of the settlements of the municipality of Perico.

The territory has more than a thousand family nuclei, which are attended by three specialists from the different sectors and by the Municipal Directorate of Labor and Social Security, with 45 workers.

The efforts are directed to the support of the 106 pregnant women, who received various resources such as cribs and mattresses. Also in this period, the more than a thousand people identified with a vulnerable situation benefited from the service of the Grandparents’ House and the Family Care System.

The Educate your child program and the Victoria task were key in supporting the children.

During the tour, it was revealed that at the beginning of 2024 there were more than a thousand people without an employment relationship, and of them 254 joined a job.

The municipal director of Labor and Social Security stated that one of the reasons for the dismissals is the non-acceptance of job offers in the agricultural sector.
