Mass fumigation in Cárdenas and Matanzas against the mosquito

A massive fumigation on the streets of Cárdenas began with the aim of confronting the situation in the territory and eliminating the sources of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, reports Radio Ciudad Bandera.

They pay special attention to the Versailles People’s Council for having the largest number of detected outbreaks, as well as the transmission of dengue among the population.

With actions like these, they intend to contribute to the elimination of mosquito bites, especially Aedes, which transmits diseases such as yellow fever, Zika and Chicuncunya.

The health authorities of Cárdenas summon the population to eliminate or place upside down the containers or objects that can accumulate water; ; make holes in the bottom of the pots for water drainage. In another order of measures, the water in the vases should be changed frequently and the deposits where the mosquito can live should be checked every day.

The Ministry of Public Health recently reported that the province of Matanzas is among those with the highest focus of Aedes, although not of dengue patients. Colón is one of the municipalities with the highest transmission rate in the province.

Government authorities of the municipality of Matanzas also announced massive fumigations to face the complex epidemiological situation of dengue.
