The renowned actor Ray Cruz will present “Fátima and the Parque de la Fraternidad” at the Sauto Theater, National Monument, in the city of Matanzas.
The staging will take place on September 29 and 30 at 8:30pm and 4:00m respectively.
The play alludes to a novel by Miguel Barnet. The plot unfolds in a monologue by the protagonist who plays two characters in parallel, Manolito-Fátima. In this antagonism Ray Cruz shows the nuances of his homosexual, transvestite and finally prostitute character.
Fátimaand the Fraternity Park revitalize the story created by Miguel Barnet and versioned in the cinema. The story has a social background of marginalization and unhealthy love relationships. Ray entertainingly interprets her nights as a sex worker in Havana while showing all of Fatima’s misfortunes as a result of her own decisions.
The work has original music by Carlos Varona and direction by Claudia Zaldívar and Ray Cruz. A cultural proposal tempered with current events for the closing of the month of September at the Yumurino coliseum. (ALH)
