The main political and government figures of the province of Matanzas, headed by the first secretary of the Party in the territory, Susely Morfa González, analyzed the indicators of agriculture in the month of August.
At the meeting, which was also attended by delegates and managers from the agricultural sector, it emerged that the milk collection plan is at 88 percent and farmers face the fourth week of the month with the goal of completing 200,000 liters. The companies of the Genetic and Integral provincial capital of Matanzas, and the Jovellanos production unit, Vladimir Ilich Lenin, were reported as non-compliant.
The agricultural companies present complications with the water supply to the animals. In the pastures, the invasion of the marabou stands out, the theft and slaughter of the cattle and the insufficient forage for the cattle, which constitutes a barrier to satisfy the plan of August.
The First Secretary pointed out that producers must obtain 218 tons of meat in a week to avoid delays in delivery to the industry, and insisted on the urgency of achieving more cattle in the territory, essentially the base producing units of Perico, Cárdenas and Martí , which exhibit negative numbers.
Another topic analyzed in the exchange was the course in the province of the various crops plan. Matanzas prepares seedbeds for the cold campaign, the figures indicate that the August objectives will be achieved and the delegates find potential to exceed the projections.
According to the head of the Department of Various Crops, Roberto González Guerra, better work in the productive bases of the municipalities would allow the use of more than 200 unused quadrats.
Morfa González emphasized that agriculture in Matanzas has the availability of fuel for crops, and there should be an abundance of highly demanded foods such as plantains, cassava and sweet potatoes. (ALH)
