The Science, Technology and Innovation in Nursing 2023 event and the First International and Virtual Meeting of the specialty began at the Comandante Faustino Pérez University Clinical Surgical Hospital, in Matanzas, with the participation of students and professionals from the sector in the province and in Cuba.
As part of the opening day, the Doctors of Science Omayda Urbina Laza and Hilda Silva Ballester gave the keynote lectures Evidence-Based Clinical Practice and the Role of Nursing in Transfusion Medicine, to socialize on the most urgent procedures validated by the scientific community based on care work and blood transfusions at different levels of health.
As part of the event, they remembered the work of Mercedes Armenteros Collazo, a nurse who recently passed away and who dedicated her life to this noble task.
As another of the activities, presentations were made on nursing techniques and procedures in the different specialties of health care.
