Cubanía, rhythm and spontaneity were experienced by the people of La Union with the presentation of the folkloric group Los Matanceros in the Malanga Park, as part of the activities planned in the territory for the 43rd Week of Culture.
The group, led by Miguel Ángel Drake Reyes, brightened up the Saturday afternoon with their sounds. The residents enjoyed the cajones, the clave and the drum of the group.
For the leader of the group, participating in this event in Unión de Reyes is a privilege, and with his music he pays tribute to the greats of the rumba in the territory.
The songs of Los Matanceros, all of their authorship, were sang by the members and dancers. The rhythmic and impressive choreography was also present.
From February 25 to March 3, the Culture Week takes place in Unión de Reyes. The festivity this year is dedicated to the first edition of the Preludio newsletter, created by the literary specialist Pastor Gutiérrez; to honor the actors of Teatro D’Sur Jorge Luis Castillo and Wilfredo Mesa, and the 175th anniversary of the founding of the town.
Sale of books, presentations of artistic units, concerts and gatherings will be part of the cultural billboard.
In Unión de Reyes, the town of José Rosario Oviedo, a rumba dancer and great exponent of Columbia, the population confirms that the roots must be preserved.
