Matanzas authorities check the price status at the Agricultural Fairs

More than 43 companies and productive forms of agriculture actively participate in the popular agricultural fairs of the city of Matanzas.

A multidisciplinary team made up of inspectors from Finance and Prices, workers from the Government, Commerce, Public Health and other provincial agencies control every Sunday that the economic actors comply with the commercialization prices established by the Contracting Committee.

Leonel Guerra Pérez, administrator of the Plaza 14 Festival explained that in the center they have a board where they display the official list of prices of all the products that are sold to avoid alterations in them at the time of sale.

During a tour of the Fairs of the Gastronomic Complex 14 Festival and the Tennis Court of the main city, the first Secretary of the Party in the province Mario Sabines Lorenzo together with the Governor Marieta Poey Zamora exchanged with the population to learn about the main dissatisfactions.

Some Matanzas residents who frequently visit these spaces show dissatisfaction with the price of vegetables and avocado. While others recognize the efforts of producers to guarantee food for the people every Sunday.

Carlos Luis Naranjo Suárez, Delegate of Agriculture in Matanzas explained that although there is a variety of grains, vegetables and root vegetables; the challenge is to continue to reduce prices.

Controlling the sales rates of the six basic products established by Resolution 225 of the Ministry of Finance and Prices is a priority for the Matanzas authorities.

Although the products of maximum demand in these spaces remain below the limits established by the country, there is still dissatisfaction among the people of Matanzas due to the instability in the offers.

Thanks to the efforts of the banking system in the territory, specialists from Xetid and Etecsa see a greater increase in the use of electronic payment gateways.

Maintaining efficient control in compliance with the laws and continuing to increase the offers from the state management constitutes a guarantee to channel the Matanzas economy and satisfy the demands of the people. (ALH)
