With an outstanding trajectory interrupted in recent times, the Provincial Numismatic Circle was reborn in Matanzas, in a meeting held this weekend at the Office of the City Conservator.
The circle, made up of collectors of coins, banknotes, medals and other items, has about twenty members in the province.
With the presence of the president of the Association of Numismatists of Cuba, Ramsés Izquierdo Martínez, and other members of the board, the articles of the statutes were read and the directors of the Provincial Circle and its president were elected through the direct and secret vote of the participants, responsibility that fell on Alejandro Rivera Socorro.
Ramsés Izquierdo pointed out that the province of Matanzas has outstanding collectors and researchers, who can promote the development of numismatics and extend it among young people and children in the territory through the creation of Circles of Interest, and pointed out the importance of organizing scientific events based on the potential that the territory has.
At the end of the meeting, an auction of 26 lots of numismatic pieces took place. (ALH)
