The 2025 Year of Defense Preparation began in the Matanzas Operational Region with a political act in which the commitment of the combatants of the Matanzas territory was ratified.
During the meeting, members of the Matanzas Military Region were decorated with the distinction of Distinguished Service in the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) and Outstanding in Defense Preparation. Likewise, the medal For Exemplary Service in the FAR was awarded.
The heads of the main units symbolically handed over to the Head of the Military Region, Brigadier General Felipe Triana Ramírez, the commitments of their military groups with a view to consolidating the results of the previous year.
The First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party, Mario Sabines Lorenzo, the Governor, Marieta Poey Zamora, the Chief of Staff of the Central Army, Brigadier General Carlos Pérez Games, and the Delegate of the MININT, First Colonel Gustavo Díaz Villalobos, presided over the act. (ALH)
