In the presence of the member of the Central Committee of the Party and head of the Political Directorate of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Major General Victor Rojo Ramos, the sixth Conference of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution was held in the municipality of Matanzas.

With the objective of improving the internal functioning, the Matanzas associates proposed to rescue activism from the grassroots associations to the municipal leadership, as well as to reduce the time for the entry of the Reservists of the FAR and the Ministry of the Interior.

In the meeting, which was also attended by the first secretary of the Party in the territory, Antonio Víctor González Imbert and Roger Almeda Rodríguez, head of the union in the province, they proposed to evaluate the incorporation of internationalist workers from education, construction and sports to the ranks of the Association of Combatants.

Regarding patriotic, military and internationalist work, the delegates to the municipal Conference insisted on the importance of linking up with community factors to ensure a greater resolution to the approaches of the associates, and attention to children and adolescents continues to be one of the priorities of the national leadership in order to revitalize the internal life and membership of the association.

At the meeting they reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people and condemned the Israeli genocide. They also ratified Mirta Pardo Junco as president of the Association in the Matanzas municipality and elected the 5 delegates to the provincial Conference. (ALH)
