Rosmery Pino Alpizar is 22 years old, studies Veterinary Medicine and is a member of the canine technique brigade and the Specialized Operation and Relief Group of the province of Matanzas.

From experiences such as rescue in floods and search for missing persons, the strongest that he remembers is that of his birthday, when he participated in the work to extinguish the fire at the Supertanker Base in Matanzas.

Together with the group, he joins the same structure in the municipality of Colón in several days, with the aim of developing training actions on practical skills and knowledge for the training of rescuers or lifeguards, who can provide a specialized response to any event in the southern part of the province.

Yudit Rodríguez Reyes, head of the Provincial Group, explains that the activities are carried out under the international standards of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, and include vertical and aquatic rescue, evaluation, identification and search for victims, protocols for action in collapsed structures and confined spaces.

Suleydis López Fernández, secretary of the Red Cross in Colón, highlighted the importance of the meeting for the 24 members of the municipal group in very intense days of physical and psychological preparation, with valid knowledge to face exceptional situations that may occur in the municipalities of Ciénaga. from Zapata, Jagüey Grande, Calimete, Los Arabos and Martí. The goal is to be the first to arrive to take care of the victims, and the motto We all go in, we all go out.
