The Camerata Jose White, founded in the Athene of Cuba by the centenary of the distinguish musicians from Matanzas, complete now five years.
The prominent violinist José Silvestre de los Dolores White Lafitté was born in Matanzas on January 1, 1836. The son of a French merchant and a Cuban black woman, he came to interpret the instrument in the most renowned European and American stages of the time and his compositions They are among the most beautiful pages of the Cuban pentagram.
The camerata, which bears his name, pays homage to the outstanding performer and composer. With a wide repertoire that records the most significant national and foreign chamber music, the group from Matanzas shows an exemplary performance in its five years of founding.
Fight against the difficulty put by the health and economic crisis he did not rest in asserting his noble attributes and participating prominently in festivals, concerts and tributes, sharing stages with other great performers.
His last concert, offered at the Matanzas headquarters of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, held on the occasion of its V Anniversary, had the approval and warm applause of the audience, who was able to enjoy a varied program with themes such as Adagio by Tomaso Albinoni, Bachiana by Heictor Villalobos and Samba Son by Jenny Peña.
