A varied program of activities is carried out by the members of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) of the municipality of Pedro Betancourt to commemorate the 62nd birthday of the organization of the Cuban peasantry.
With the presence of the highest local authorities, the Leovigildo Sierra Baró Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS), of the Manuelito Popular Council, became the setting to celebrate the municipal act for the founding of this organization, and at the 17 de Mayo primary school with the establishment of a Pioneer Campaign to guarantee the comprehensive training of its students, encourage their interest in the study of agricultural specialties and contribute to the socioeconomic development of Pedro Betancourt.
Likewise, they highlighted the exchange in the CCS José Díaz Márquez with the advanced producer Frank Fernández, owner of a diversified farm and inserted in the Agroecological Movement from Farmer to Farmer, and the inauguration of the History Room of the Municipal Committee of ANAP, where the legacy of the martyr Gustavo González Pérez was extolled, among other figures.
Likewise, there was no lack of recognition for the organization and, together with the Outstanding category obtained by the territory in the comprehensive emulation for May 17, the CPA Héroes del Moncada, from the Bolondrón Popular Council, was the provincial Vanguard.
The cooperative members from Betancour were encouraged to meet their indicators in local food production and the Municipal Secretariat of the Federation of Cuban Women congratulated ANAP for the joint work between both organizations. (ALH)
