The Provincial Festival of Amateur Artists of Casas de Cultura returned to the Matanzas event after several years of absence. The Cárdenas Cinema Theater and the Jagüey Grande House of Culture were the venues where the event was held regionally.
True talents from all over the province performed with various theatrical, dance and musical styles, while Afro or traditional Cuban peasant folklore, flamenco, pop and song were among the genres.
Dance groups such as Bulerías, Dream Dance, Otowá, and Los Rumberitos de Unión de Reyes, just to mention a few, showed the importance of rescuing a festival that has always been a source of professionals in our country.
Resuming these events despite the difficult situations is an achievement, because the quality of the presentations augurs a satisfactory future in the art that is needed, especially thanks to the instructors who work in the Houses of Culture. (ALH)
